Jimmy Butler keeps Bulls postseason hopes alive

All seemed lost in Chicago a couple weeks ago.

Players were complaining about head coach Fred Hoiberg, Dwyane Wade was ruled out for the remainder of the regular season, and their fading playoff hopes were starting to look like a mirage.

Jimmy Butler, however, is a winner, and winners play their best when faced with adversity. Butler scored 33 points with eight assists Saturday to lead the Bulls to a 106-104 home victory over the Hawks.

Guess so, since ESPN announced Sunday that Ball will return to the “First Take” debate desk Monday (10 a.m. ET). He’ll even bring Lonzo, who announced Friday he will enter the NBA Draft.

LaVar Ball’s ridiculous boasts about beating Michael Jordan one-on-one and his son being better than two-time NBA MVP Steph Curry have stretched the bounds of credulity at ESPN, not to mention his public battles with LeBron James and TNT’s Charles Barkley.

Mike Golic, co-host of “Mike & Mike in the Morning,” vowed last week he would not waste another second on LaVar Ball, even though his show leads into “First Take.”

Not only did Leonard score 39 points to help erase a 16-point deficit but he Cheap Full Dye Softball Jerseys also had the two biggest plays at the end of the game to put the Spurs up for good.

Trialing by two with 25 seconds remaining, Leonard nailed a 25-foot 3-pointer to give the Spurs a two-point lead. On the ensuing possession, Harden drove the lane looking for the game-winner Cheap Flag Football Jerseys but Leonard blocked him from behind and knocked down two free throws to help seal a 112-110 win.

Chargers logo, player booed at Clippers-Lakers game

The Chargers didn’t receive the warmest welcome at their first public presentation on Saturday.

During the Clippers-Lakers game at the Staples Center, the Los Angeles Chargers’ new logo was displayed on the video screen before being promptly booed by the crowd.

Things got even more awkward when the screen shifted to Chargers tight end Jeff Cumberland. After briefly waving to the camera, he received a mix of boos and applause.

The Chargers debuted their new look on Thursday, but it was immediately criticized for its resemblance to the Los Angeles Dodgers’ logo. The team announced yesterday it had dropped the design.

Montgomery’s path back to the position he played primarily as a child serves as a reminder: A player’s talent and specific attributes sometimes prevail even when the system discourages their development. Montgomery, a running back, was told he’d play wide receiver for his pass-happy high school in Dallas.

My ball coach in high school asked me if I would play receiver to help,’ Montgomery said last month. ‘I was like, ‘Yeah, I’ll do anything to play varsity.’ He was like, ‘To be honest, we’re not going to run the ball so we’re just going to have you play receiver.’ I was like, ‘OK.’

It worked, as Montgomery was noticed and Cheap Gaa Jerseys recruited as a wide receiver. But the attributes the ability to break tackles; the vision to set up defenders or give them tougher tackling angles; the Cheap Full Dye Softball Jerseys will to gain every possible yard on any given play were evident regardless of Montgomery’s position.

Andrew Luck already running out of time to join all-time greats at QB

Andrew Luck is the highest-paid quarterback and player in the NFL. But he is not the league’s best QB if we’re judging by the number of Super Bowl appearances and championships he has won — zero and zero.

Fair or not, that’s ultimately how quarterbacks are judged.

Is Luck eventually going to take his place alongside the likes of Tom Brady and Joe Montana as super talented and super successful on the field? Or is he destined to be another Dan Fouts or Warren Moon, a Hall of Fame quarterback who never made it to a Super Bowl?

Luck turns 28 in September. By Brady’s 28th birthday, he already had won three Super Bowls on his way to five titles, plus two more appearances in the big game. Montana had two Super Bowl victories at that juncture on his way to four overall. Another four-time champ, Terry Bradshaw, won two Super Bowls by age 27.

Bowles’s answer to two questions about Harris’s abrupt release, according to Newsday, was: “That’s a good question.” He also said, “I wasn’t in the meetings. It happened abruptly, obviously … I’m not doing the numbers, I’m not the salary guy. I don’t handle those types of things. I Cheap Full Dye Softball Jerseys just Cheap Elite Jerseys coach the team. So that would probably be a question for somebody else at a later date.”

One of those “somebodies,” of course, would be general manager Mike Maccagnan, whose seat presumably would be as hot as Bowles’ would be if things go as bad as they are now. Then Cheap Football Jerseys again, remember which one can fire the other, and which can’t.

And the No. 1 “somebody” is Johnson, the owner.
