Brandon Marshall calls Odell Beckham Jr. ‘biggest superstar our game has ever seen’

“I think that’s important to keep guys fresh,” the new OC said last month, via the New York Post. “Every game is going to be different with different personnel groupings, different plays, whatever you have to do to win the game.”

Forte, who with the Bears often excelled as a receiver out of the backfield, likes the idea of West Coast Offense principles, which Morton is expected to employ. He should see more third-down snaps and receiving opportunities as a result.

Good thing Quincy Enunwa broke out in his third season with 58 catches for 857 yards and four touchdowns, because with Marshall and Decker gone, the 25-year-old all of the sudden is the Jets’ No. 1 receiver.

Don’t let the fact that Odell Beckham Jr. is overly emotional and even a little bit immature distract from the simple fact that the Giants wide receiver is at times an unstoppable force.

His new teammate Brandon Marshall sure isn’t.

“He’s the biggest superstar our game has ever seen in the history of Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping football,” Marshall told Thursday.

Marshall has always been one to talk up his teammates, having said great things about Jay Cutler and Ryan Fitzpatrick in the past despite their less-than-stellar track records at times, but Marshall certainly knows the receiving game and the benefits a player of OBJ’s caliber brings to the entire offense.

“I’m happy to be his teammate lined up on the other side,” Marshall said. “Go double coverage him. Send all the coverage to him, and I’ll be backside, me and (Sterling Shepard) one on one, and Wholesale Jerseys China we’ll be happy.”

Juror links Aaron Hernandez to Deflategate, dismissed from murder trial

A woman who associated Aaron Hernandez with the Patriots Deflategate scandal was one of several potential jurors dismissed Friday from Hernandez’s double murder trial, the Boston Globe reported.

Four others were dismissed for discussing the case amongst themselves, a violation of the judge’s orders.

Boston Herald writer Ron Borges wrote a column Friday pointing out that Owens isn’t the first receiver with lofty career stats overlooked by the Hall, mentioning old-school players such as Billy Wilson and Billy Howton along with more recent stars (Sterling Sharpe), who are still on the outside looking in.

But for those critics who say Owens’ numbers guarantee him a spot in the hall, Borges offered this spin: “Owens not only led the NFL in drops once, he finished in the top four in drops seven other seasons during his 15-year career. … that means for more than half the years he played, Terrell Owens was annually among the top four receivers in drops. Sorry, but that’s not my definition of ‘first-ballot Hall of Famer.’”

Drops are not an official NFL stat, and some in the Twitterverse wondered where Borges got his numbers. Others pointed out that many great receivers, including Jerry Rice, had a lot of drops, for a simple reason — they got more targets. More targets equals more potential drops.

Borges’ final message to critics of the decision: “…you might want to Cheap Infant Jerseys drop your volume a bit on this matter and wait for T.O.’s moment to come, as it rightly will.”

Seahawks sign old friend Blair Walsh to attempt to kick field goals

Blair Walsh’s kicking career hasn’t been the same since his now-infamous missed chip shot in a playoff game last January cost the Vikings their season.

But Walsh has been given a chance at redemption by the biggest beneficiary of his flub, the Seahawks, who signed the free-agent kicker Thursday to replace free-agent-to-be Steven Hauschka, the team announced.

“We played that game how we played the entire year. I called plays the way I did the entire year,” Shanahan said at a news conference Thursday. “бн You live with the consequences.”

It certainly will take time for Shanahan to escape the shadow of that setback even as he embarks on his first head coaching job on the other side of the country. Shanahan thanked his new boss, 49ers owner Jed York, for giving him an extra day or so of recovery time after Sunday’s loss in Houston before he reported for duty in San Francisco.

The loss was “as hard as anything I’ve gone through,” Shanahan said. “Jed told me to take my time. I was definitely grieving and probably will for a while.”

Whatever lingering regrets Shanahan might have will soon be pushed aside by the considerable task of teaming with new general manager John Lynch in an effort to get the 49ers back on track Cheap Jerseys Basketball following a 2-14 season.

Cowboys, Cardinals to meet in 2017 Hall of Fame game

Falcons rookie middle linebacker Deion Jones made a big play on third-and-short to force a three-and-out on the Patriots’ first drive. He tackled New England running back LeGarrette Blount in the backfield.

Kickoff. Dion Lewis took a knee in the end zone for a touchback. The Patriots started the first drive of the game on their own 25-yard line.

Coin toss. The Falcons won the toss (tails; Patriots called heads) and elected to defer to the second half.

Country music star Luke Bryan began his national anthem performance, and the over/under watch for the prop betters also began. SN clocked the national anthem at 2 minutes and eight seconds.

Fans won’t have to wait long to get a look at the Dallas Cowboys’ dynamic duo of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott next season.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced Thursday that the Cowboys will face the Arizona Cardinals in the Hall of Fame game Aug. 3 in Canton, Ohio.

The annual game opens the NFL preseason and is Wholesale Jerseys China a featured part of the Hall of Fame’s induction weekend. But this year’s game will for the first time be played on Thursday, instead of Sunday.

The move accomplishes two things. First, it puts the weekend’s focus squarely on the HOF enshrinement ceremony Saturday. It also preserves the field, which usually sees heavy use during the long weekend.

The 2016 Hall of Fame game between the Colts and Packers was canceled because of poor field conditions.

Chip Kelly’s next job could be on television

Chip Kelly spent a decent chunk of what turned out to be his only season as 49ers coach fending off questions about his future. One of his more memorable responses came at an Oct. 20 news conference after a reporter asked whether he was committed to the 49ers.

“Unless the media has an opportunity for me somewhere, I’ll always explore those opportunities,” he said, tongue in cheek, before adding: “But, I’m not going anywhere.”

Turns out, the media may be exactly where he’s going.

Thomas, who contemplated retirement after breaking the tibia in his left leg in the Seahawks’ game against the Panthers in Week 13, confirmed he’ll be back.

“I’m coming back to prove I’m the best,” Thomas told ESPN. “I’m coming back to help my team win a championship.”

A five-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro, Thomas remains a key component in Seattle’s secondary and is expected to resume his starting role when he’s deemed healthy enough.

As for the team’s offense, Carroll added wide receiver Tyler Lockett also has “a Cheap Retro Basketball Jerseys really good chance” to be ready by the start of the season. Lockett’s season ended in Week 16 when he underwent surgery after suffering a fractured tibia and fibula in his right leg.

“We’re realistic about where we are as a brand and a roster. More importantly I think these are young men who are eager to play in the NFL,” Brown said Wednesday in Indianapolis. “They want to go different places, perhaps, but I think more important is you just can’t take it too seriously. Obviously it’s been well-documented and explained.

NFL overtime: 6 formats that would work better than 10-minute period

NFL owners think they can improve player safety by reducing the length of overtime to 10 minutes rather than 15 minutes, which, according to ESPN, is shenanigans. Such a rule change will “reduce MLB Cheap Jerseys From China wear and tear on players” by less than one percent.

So allow us to offer the league a few better solutions to its supposed overtime problem.

The primary public pushback to the NFL’s overtime reduction is the assumption of more ties — nobody likes ties. And it’s a fair assumption. According to, the number of games that ended in a tie over the last five years would have tripled under a 10-minute OT format.

That said, it’s fair to argue the league is addressing the wrong issue. Rather than concerning itself over the length of overtime, the NFL might want to consider a legitimate format tweak.

Sporting News writers Bill Bender, Mike DeCourcy, Vinnie Iyer, Tadd Haislop, Alex Marvez and David Steele each know a way the NFL can find a solution. And each idea makes more sense than the owners’ Make Cheap Jerseys overtime length reduction.

In addition to his announcement on Uninterrupted, Hawkins posted a video to Instagram where his face was edited on to Ricky Jerrett’s from the HBO show “Ballers.”

He also added, “If you’re going to get injured, get treated the right way, so there are no long-term ramifications for it. You’d hate to stop doing something you love to do because of an injury.”

the Padres are the last show in San Diego.

I’ll resist the urge to crack wise and propose that baseball go to a home run derby after 12 innings, because, you know, that’s so clichéd.

“It’s not fun to watch when you go through your whole pitching staff and wind up bringing a utility infielder in to pitch. As much as it’s nice to talk about being at an 18-inning game, it takes time,” Torre told Yahoo Sports.

“It’s baseball. I’m just trying to get back to that, where this is the game that people come to watch. It doesn’t mean you’re going to score. You’re just trying to play baseball.”

Tigers (15-15) at Diamondbacks (18-15), 9:40 p.m. ET — Detroit finally looks set to make a change at closer with Francisco Rodriguez reeling. That, along with the fact Justin Verlander (2-2, 4.21 ERA) is on the mound, should ease the restless Tigers fans in Detroit. Arizona will counter with former Tiger prospect Robbie Ray (2-2, 3.47 ERA), who has turned into a strikeout artist.

Consider this: Now that the NFL’s Chargers have bolted to Los Angeles, the Padres are the last show in San Diego. The Padres were a team in desperate need of a new face to represent the Cheap NHL Jerseys franchise. They hadn’t had one since the days of the late, great Tony Gwynn. So San Diego put its faith in still-young-but-feels-like-he’s-been-here-forever Wil Myers. It was the right move to make.

Myers showed flashes of his once-exalted offensive prowess early in the 2016 season. In doing so, Myers also exhibited his Wil-power (woof) — he only had 27 career home runs prior to his arrival in San Diego. He hit 28 in 2016, including 18 at home in Petco Park, a notorious pitchers’ ballpark. It resulted in his first All-Star appearance. Oh, and he did all this while learning — and exceeding expectations at — a new position.

Cubs’ World Series trophy reportedly damaged by music fans at late-night concert

“The question remains what owner and GM is going to step up and sign Colin so their team has a better chance to WIN? What Crime has Colin Committed? Look at the QB’s Of all 32 teams. This is some straight up shenanigans, subterfuge, skullduggery and BS. Ya-Dig?”

SN’s own David Steele has questioned whether Kaepernick, who has four postseason victories and a near Super Bowl win on his resume, is being blackballed by NFL teams for his social activism.

Bleacher Report NFL columnist Mike Freeman wrote many NFL clubs “genuinely hate” Kaepernick and “want nothing to do with him.”

Plenty agree with Lee. His pro-Kaepernick post has drawn over 14,000 likes and counting on Instagram. But Jason Whitlock, co-host of FS1’s “Speak for Yourself,” said the world’s most famous Knicks fan has “no credibility” when it comes to pro football.

The Cubs’ World Series trophy stayed out late for an Eddie Vedder concert New York Giants Cheap Jerseys in Boston over the weekend, and looked a little ragged the next morning.

According to the Boston Globe, the trophy, along with the Red Sox 2004 World Series trophy, were part of the backstage party for the Hot Stove Cool Music benefit concert at Paradise Rock Club. (Cubs President Theo Epstein and his brother, Paul, host the annual fundraising concert.)

But around 1 a.m., as Vedder and everyone else rocked to the strains of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World,” the trophies were passed through the crowd.

The Red Sox’s trophy apparently fared OK. The Cubs’ had a few too many handlers and came back missing a few of the little gold-plated flags representing each of the 30 MLB teams.

According to the Globe, the trophy was repaired in time to be displayed for the next night’s Cubs-Red Sox game at Fenway. We’re betting this move will not be repeated at any future benefit concert by the Epsteins.

Aaron Hernandez’s former friend recounts night of alleged double murder during testimony

A key witness in the ongoing double-murder trial of Aaron Hernandez took the stand Monday and described in gripping detail the night the one-time NFL star allegedly shot and killed two men outside a Boston nightclub in 2012.

Alexander Bradley, a former confidant to Hernandez, testified he was driving the Toyota 4Runner when, prosecutors say, Hernandez opened fire from the passenger window, killing Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado on July 16, 2012. During testimony, Bradley identified Hernandez as the trigger man. Hernandez was angry over an encounter with the victims inside the nightclub, Bradley said, and ordered him to pull up next to the BMW sedan carrying de Abreu and Furtado at an intersection outside.

Not insignificant in all of this is Peterson making $12 million last year, and the Vikings declining his option for $18 million this year. The entire universe knew he wasn’t going to get eight figures in 2017, but seeing Lacy come off the market first among top-level running backs and end up with just $3 million had to make him flinch.

The death of the running back position has been foretold for years, surviving even the arrival of Ezekiel Elliott last season. But the discounted rates and lukewarm early interest reinforce that idea … and adds one more thing to work against Peterson.

It could be a number of factors that left Peterson on the outside looking in, but what’s known now is that he went to Seattle, came back without an contract, then saw Lacy get snapped up.

While Hall of Fame vote totals for controversial contemporaries Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens have been on the rise in recent years, making it a realistic possibility the pair could make it into Cooperstown, Sosa has polled between 6 and 9 percent each of the last four years — just above the 5 percent MLB Cheap Jerseys threshold necessary to stay on the ballot.

Betts went 2 for 4 with two runs scored a home run and three RBIs

Jose Berrios has been one of the Twins’ top prospects for a couple years, and the highly rated starting pitcher finally displayed some of his talent Saturday in a 4-1 win against the Indians. Berrios, who was promoted from Triple-A on Friday, allowed just one earned run off of two hits and four strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings.

Mookie Betts and Chris Sale led the Red Sox to a 6-3 win over the Rays. Betts went 2 for 4 with two runs scored a home run and three RBIs. Sale whiffed 12 batters while giving up just three runs off of two hits in seven innings, and is now 4-2 with a 2.15 ERA this season.

Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber went 0 for 4 in a 5-3 loss to the Cardinals, and is now batting just .183 this season. It is time for Joe Maddon to abort the controversial decision to bat Schwarber leadoff. It isn’t working.

The Nationals have most of the pieces to be a World Series contender, but they’re going to have to find some way to fix their bullpen or it could cost them in September. The Orioles also look to be a legitimate contender with their ability to win close games. Baltimore is now 8-1 in games decided by a single run and Trumbo’s walk-off winner was the seventh of his career.

Rangers right-hander A.J. Griffin improved to 4-0 on the season with a complete-game shutout of the Padres. Griffin scattered just four hits and struck out four with one walk in the 11-0 victory. He is the first Rangers pitcher to toss a shutout since Colby Lewis on Sept. 11, 2015.

Red Sox pitcher Drew Pomeranz lasted just four innings at Miller Park. He surrendered first-inning home runs to Eric Thames and Keon Broxton as the Brewers jumped out to a 5-1 lead en route to an 11-7 victory. Pomeranz was tagged for six runs on seven hits with just two strikeouts and a pair of walks to Brewers leadoff hitter Jonathan Villar.
