Wizards’ Markieff Morris will play in Game 2 vs. the Celtics

Wizards forward Markieff Morris will play in Game 2 of Washington’s second-round series against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday, according to The Vertical’s Shams Charania.

Morris suffered a sprained left ankle in the second quarter of Game 1 when he made a jump shot before landing on Al Horford’s foot. He exited the game under his own power but did not return after heading to the locker room. The Wizards went on to lose, 123-111.

Morris said after that loss he would play in Game 2, and that sitting the remainder of Game 1 out was a precautionary measure. The Wizards forward averaged 14 points and 6.5 rebounds per game for a Washington team that finished the regular season with the Eastern Conference’s fourth-best record. He is averaging almost two blocks per game during the playoffs.

Without Morris, the Wizards had paired Kelly Oubre with the starting unit, making it easier for Boston to hide Isaiah Thomas defensively.

Dude is literally using This One Weird Trick, and it makes me wonder who Buy Cheap Jerseys the next perfectly pleasant hitter will be to turn into a Hall of Fame-caliber hitter. I’ll just throw a dart and … uh, let’s see, James Loney, you’re a .330 hitter with power now because of launch angles. Congratulations.

Until then, though, Murphy is still one of the faces of the launch-angle revolution, and Baseball Jerseys Cheap when I mentally tallied up the Nationals’ roster before the season, I figured he was going to be good, but not as good as he was last year, when he finished second in the MVP voting. Instead, he’s exactly as good as he was last year, which helps make the Nationals lineup a burly nightmare for opposing pitchers.

Saints draft Ryan Ramczyk, the latest Wisconsin 1st-round tackle

As the 2014 college football season came to a close, Ryan Ramcyzk was a second-team All-WIAC offensive lineman for the Division III UW-Stevens Point Pointers. Less than three years later, he’s now a first-round pick in the NFL Draft.

The New Orleans Saints bet big on Ramczyk’s meteoric rise, taking the former DIII standout with the 32nd overall pick. New Orleans is hoping the Wisconsin standout will be the latest Badger to develop into a Pro Bowl blocker, joining fellow alumni like Joe Thomas and Travis Frederick as elite pass protectors.

Ramczyk took the long road to the NFL. He was an all-state lineman at Stevens Point Area Senior High School, but as a two-star prospect, he turned down Paul Chryst’s scholarship offer at Pitt. Instead, he intended to play his college ball at Winona State University in Minnesota, but never enrolled.

Former Notre Dame cornerback Jaylon Smith had a similar policy after his ACL and LCL tear in the Fiesta Bowl cost him from being an early first-round pick.

The injury greatly affected his draft stock. Instead of having his name called Cheap Jerseys America within the first hour of the NFL Draft, he fell to the second day, and was taken at No. 34 overall by the Dallas Cowboys.

Smith ended up signing a four-year deal with the Cowboys, one with a $2.9 million Cheap Jackie Robinson Jerseys signing bonus that is worth roughly $6.1 million. It’s still a solid amount of money, but had he been taken, say, third, his contract in total would be close to $26 million, per Pro Football Talk. Smith was fortunate enough to get insurance money, which will pay $900,000. All in all, this money is nowhere near what he would’ve made if he would’ve sat out of the Fiesta Bowl.

Bowl games will continue to be a topic of conversation ahead of the NFL draft, especially after this year. Where McCaffrey, Fournette, and Butt ended up all will contribute to that narrative.
